Measurement Topic 6,7,8: Ecology of Life
Once students understand the scientific process, they will then look at the world around them. They will examine both biotic and abiotic factors that affect the environment. Students will then study environmental factors that affect living things like carrying capacity, predator/prey, symbiotic relationships, and biodiversity. They will then learn about communities and how energy flows through ecosystems. Lastly, they learn how humans affect the environment and how we can live in a more sustainable world. Some of the key terms in this unit are: Communities, Ecosystems, Biotic/Abiotic Factors, Food chains/Food webs, Relationships, Succession, Biodiversity, Energy in Ecosystems, Natural Resources, Environmental Challenges
